You can assign categories to your food items. This helps organize products into main groups, making it easier for customers to browse similar types of food.
- Navigate to Food Menu → Food Category → Add & Manage Category.
- Clicking this option will redirect you to the WooCommerce Product Categories page.
- From there, you can add new categories or manage existing ones for your food menu.
Fields for Adding a New Category #
- Name – Category name (e.g., Pizza, Drinks).
- Slug – URL-friendly name (e.g., pizza, cold-drinks).
- Parent Category – Select if it’s a sub-category.
- Description – Optional text; some themes may show it.
- Display type – Choose how products appear (Default, Products, Subcategories, Both).
- Thumbnail – Upload an image for the category.
Click Add new category. It will appear on the right, where you can edit, reorder (drag & drop), or assign it to food items.
